Louis Sylwester, 81, of Fargo, ND, died Monday, November 5, 2007, in Fargo, ND. Louis Norman Carl Sylwester was born February 17, 1926, in Michigan, to August and Martha Sylwester. At an early age, Louis and his family moved to southern Minnesota. He was confirmed in Gaylord, MN and graduated from Gaylord School in 1944. Louis joined the U.S. Air Force, after graduation, and served as a gunner for three years during WWII. He received an honorable discharge in 1947. Louis was the youngest of seven children. He worked with Unocal for 35 years. Louis spent many hours fishing on Otter Tail Lake in Minnesota, and he enjoyed playing golf. Louis left behind a wife, Ramona, Fargo, ND; three children, Dorothy (John) Lowe, Mapleton, ND; Linda Gust, West Fargo, ND; and Paul (Cindy) Bloom, Christine, ND; four grandchildren, Donny (Jennifer) Lowe, Fargo, ND; Jolene (Mike Olson) Gust, West Fargo, ND; Chris (Melissa) Gust, Santa Maria, OR; Leah (Darcy Lundberg) Gust, Fargo, ND; three great grandchildren, Ashlyn Bahr and Aaron and Hannah Gust; a brother, Eugene Sylwester, Denver, CO; and a sister, Irmgard Barrows, Denver, CO; many nieces and nephews; and two kittens, Lilly and Daisy. Funeral Service: Friday, November 9, 2007, at 10:00 AM, at Beautiful Saviour Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
