Lorrie C. Niles, 56, Aurora, CO, (formerly of Mandan, ND) was called home by God after a courageous battle with heart disease, on Tuesday, December 4, 2007, at Aurora Medical Center, Colorado. Lorrie was fun loving and a kid at heart. She was generous and kind and loved by all who knew her and will always be greatly missed. Lorraine “Lorrie” Christine Niles was born May 16, 1951, in Bismarck, North Dakota, daughter of John and Fern (Fredrickson) Niles. She was raised in Mandan, ND, where she graduated from high school. She graduated from North Dakota State University, Fargo, ND, in 1972, with a degree in Executive Housekeeping. Her career in this field took her to Ohio and eventually, to the Denver, Colorado, area. She took paralegal courses and was employed the past 20 years in the legal profession. Lorrie was an animal lover and enjoyed the constant companionship of her many pet cats and kittens throughout the years. She also enjoyed arts and crafts, working with needlework and produced many unique quilts and scarves that will provide many fond memories through the years. She traveled in the Caribbean and Europe with her sister, Judy. Lorrie is survived by her mother, Fern Niles, Fargo, ND; siblings, Judy Niles, Louisville, KY; Bob (Peg) Niles, Oro Valley, AZ; John Niles, Meriden, KS; Deb (Bill) Roufs, International Falls, MN; Chad (Mary) Niles, Oxbow, ND; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, John Niles; and sister-in-law, Suzanne Niles. Lorrie was an organ donor and in lieu of flowers donations may be given to the American Heart Association. Visitation: Monday, December 10, 2007, from 5-7 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. A Private Family Service will be held at a later date.
