Lorraine L. Ledoux

Lorraine Louella Crooks was born August 25, 1924 on the family farm in Arthur, ND. She attended school in Page, ND until the family moved to Fargo in 1933 where she continued her education at Jefferson and Agassiz Jr. High.

On February 18, 1942 Lorraine married Everett Dixon. They had two daughters together; Genevieve (David) Kramer and Karen (Bernard) Meyer. She raised two stepdaughters, Grace (Bernard) Stack and Yvonne (Daniel) Scott.

Lorraine was married to Everett for 36 years. They enjoyed dancing, playing cards and picnics with family. Lorraine was a stay-at-home mother, occasionally working as a waitress and at the bingo tables at the Moose Lodge. She volunteered at St. John’s Hospital. Lorraine loved going to Saturday night dances with her husband, and playing with her grandchildren. Her hobbies were ceramics, and plastic canvas. Lorraine took great joy in using her plastic canvas creations to decorate the bulletin board at her apartment complex, for each season and holiday. She loved looking at all her photo albums and greeting cards. Besides bingo, she enjoyed dancing, listening to country music, watching Polka Party, Bonanza and Little House on the Prairie.

Lorraine married Delbert LeDoux on April 28, 1980 and became a stepmother to 5 stepsons and 3 stepdaughters. Together they enjoyed playing bingo and volunteering at the Veterans Administration and also distributing bread to residents at University Manor. They were married 23 years.

Lorraine enjoyed all of her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and even great, great grandchildren!

She was preceded in death by Everett (husband), Delbert (husband) and Grace (daughter).
