Loretta Margaret Solberg

Loretta Solberg, 81, of Fargo, ND, was called to her eternal resting place on Monday, October 29, 2018 at Villa Maria Nursing Home in Fargo.

Loretta Margaret Melting entered this world on March 9, 1937 in Halstad, MN, born to John and Nora (Tvedt) Melting. She grew up in Halstad, graduating from Halstad High School in 1955.

Loretta married Archie C. Solberg on October 13, 1956. They lived in Fargo, ND until 1963, after which they moved to Huron, SD. In 1966 they moved to Brookings, SD and in 1975 they moved to Madison, SD where they bought their first grocery store. In 1978 they moved to Wishek, ND and stayed in the grocery business until 1986 when they retired to Fargo.

Loretta worked for Goldmark and Fercho Properties. She was also an in-home caregiver for several different people with special needs during her retirement. She was an avid reader when she wasn’t busy cleaning!

Loretta was all about her family. Her children and grandchildren meant the world to her. She was very proud to be a Melting from Little Chicago.

Loretta is survived by her children, Scott (Michelle) Solberg, Dell Rapids, SD; Michael (Michele) Solberg, Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Mitch, Amy, Chris, Kelsey, Dylan, Alysha, and Rhiannon; great-grandchildren, Lexie, Devin, Makayla, Konner, Khloe, Emaline, and August; and one sister, Lyla Gilbertson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Archie; son, James; daughter, Deb; brothers, Carlton, David, and John; and sister, Marlene Bennett.
