Lonnie Hillen, 46, of Fargo, ND, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 23, 2015, under the care of Hospice, after a prolonged illness.
Lonnie Ray Hillen was born April 15, 1969 in Jamestown, ND to Fred and Peggy (Thomas) Hillen. He graduated from West Fargo High School in 1988, and attended Interstate Business College in Fargo where he received a degree in Business Management.
On August 5, 1989, Lonnie married Nancy Redfield and they made their home in Fargo. Lonnie had a love for cars, which led him into the auto body profession where he worked for several years before leaving the profession to work at Indigo Signs as first a sign installer and later in sales.
Lonnie had a gift of talking and really enjoyed working in the sales area where he gained a lot of respect from customers for his caring ways. He continued in this job until he was diagnosed with a terminal illness that left him unable to work.
He enjoyed bowling and poker leagues, and all of the socializing that these hobbies allowed him. He also enjoyed spending time with his two labs, Cece and Roo.
Lonnie is survived by his wife, Nancy; two daughters, Cassandra and Carissa, Fargo, ND; parents, Fred and Peggy, West Fargo, ND; brother, Bruce (Lynn) Hillen, West Fargo, ND; sister, Shannon (Jason) Bjornson, West Fargo, ND; grandmother, Rose (Arlie) Rud, Jamestown, ND; many in-laws, nieces, and nephews; and his beloved labrador, Roo.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Louie Thomas; grandparents, Fred and Ruth Hillen; and brother, Shane Hillen.
