Lisa Smith Useldinger

Lisa Kay Smith was born October 9, 1963 to Charles and Delores Smith in Fargo, North Dakota at St. John’s Hospital. She was raised in Fargo where she attended Fargo North High School and North Dakota State University. She had previously taken care of children in her home daycare. She enjoyed working in Property Management in the Fargo-Moorhead and West Fargo areas over the last several years. Lisa resided in Gardner, North Dakota with her fiancée, Corby Heller. Lisa’s life revolved around her children, Derek, Brock and Brittany. She prided herself on being a mom and loved being Hannah’s “Bana”. She was excited to learn she was going to have another grandchild in the early summer. She loved to shop, collect a variety of things such as antiques, Disney movies, picture frames, dolls and Beanie Babies to name a few. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her children, granddaughter and Corby. She looked forward to the many Twins games they would attend as well as their annual trip to Florida in the hot sun. Lisa loved to travel and had always wanted to be able to do that more and more. In the last few years, she was able to visit California, Florida, Texas and Mexico. She was proud of her faith in Jesus and spent a lot of time reading her Bible and attending Bible Studies. Her faith and her family were her strength as she battled cancer over the last year. Lisa was reunited with her mother, father, sister and the Lord on Sunday, February 19th surrounded by her family that loved her so dear. Lisa will be missed by her family and the many friends that she held close to her heart. Lisa is survived by her children, Derek (Angie) of West Fargo, Brock of Fargo and Brittany of Davenport; her pride and joy, granddaughter Hannah; fiancée, Corby Heller (Gardner) and his daughter Samantha and step-daughter, Lisa (Tony) Davis of Davenport. She is also survived by her brother, Donald (Marlys) Schmidt of Fargo and Jerry (Linda) Schmidt of Devils Lake and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Delores (Olson), her sister, Cheryl LeRud, nephew Roger Halvorson Jr. and Derek’s father, Tom Wright.
