Linda Lou Johnson (Lin or Puggy to close family and friends) was born November 30th, 1943 in Sharon, North Dakota to Lorraine Beatrice Wilson and Lloyd Walter Nelson. Linda passed away September 8th, 2012 in her beautiful home surrounded by her loving family. She fought a very courageous battle with cancer the only way she knew how, head on and "Get-r-done!" She will be missed and remembered by everyone she touched with her love, compassion, and humor.
She spent most of her life in North Dakota, growing up and attending school in Finley and Mayville. In 1965, Linda was married to Lowell Johnson, who was her husband until 2000. They had one child, son Jeffrey, while living in Grand Forks where Linda worked for Dr. Barcomb at the UND School of Medicine Vocational Rehab Center. In 1970, they moved to Fargo where Linda worked at the Technical Neurological Institute as a medical secretary. From 1972 to 1980 she worked as a secretary for Amchem Products before retiring to dedicate more time to her beloved son, Jeff.
Linda spent many hours at events videotaping and creating memories that will last forever. This passion continued on from 1984-1988 when Jeff attended NDSU and played football for the Bison. She loved attending all the games and events, scrapbooking and documenting everything along the way!
In 1992, Linda's son, Jeff, married Kristi Hanna and Linda gained a daughter! From 1994 to 2000 Linda enjoyed jet skiing at the lakes, riding her Harley Davidson, winter trips to Arizona, snowmobiling, snow skiing, and numerous other adventurous hobbies. She was thrilled in 1996 and 1997 with the birth of her first two grandchildren, Katie and Lacie. They were quick to add another sparkle in her beautiful eyes! In 2000, after divorcing Lowell, Linda moved to Fountain Hills, Arizona. In 2002, after the birth of her third granddaughter, Halle, she moved back to Fargo to be closer to family and friends. Linda was blessed with the birth of her first grandson, Jacob, in 2004. In 2007, Linda received an extension of her family when she met Warren Anderson and his family from Walker, Minnesota. She enjoyed many great times with them, traveling overseas and spending time at their Lakes Resorts.
Linda had a real passion for life and loved to do exciting new things. Along the way she met many new people who quickly fell in love with her spirited personality. She loved to roll on the throttle of her Harley on many trips to Montana and other states. Dinners, dancing, and a little gambling, with some George Jones music playing! She loved to do it all!! But most of all, she enjoyed sharing her love with others, being a great daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend! She will be missed greatly and remembered forever!
Linda is survived by her son Jeff, his wife Kristi, and their children, Katie, Lacie, Halle, and Jacob Johnson, her niece, Jodi Phillips, her husband Todd, and their children, Kelsey, Brooke, and Abby, cousins Gayle Ann Barenz, Darryl Gylten, and Dave Gylten, cousin Olive Nelson and her husband Ron, special friend, Warren Anderson and his family, and her most special lifelong best friend, Sandy DeHaan.
