Lillian Foss was born April 8, 1928, near Ashley, ND to Gottfried and Otillia Roeszler. She grew up on the farm with six sisters and one brother. As a young adult, she ventured to Fargo, ND, where she eventually met the man she immediately knew she would marry.
Lillian and Ray Foss married December 16, 1955, in Moorhead, MN. They made their home in Christine, ND where Ray had grown up. They purchased Johnson Oil Company and added the Foss name to it. They had 2 children, Penny and Robbi. Lillian was a stay-at-home working mom; raising two kids while keeping the company books. Together Ray and Lillian owned and operated Foss Johnson Oil until Ray's death in 1983. Lillian ran the company alone until 1991 when she retired and sold the company to Penny. She moved into Fargo where she did volunteer work at Dakota Hospital and also worked at Quality Bakery. She moved to Touchmark Assisted Living where she met a very special man, Duke (Murile) LeDoux. The two had an amazing bond and made many wonderful memories together. Duke eventually passed away in 2019. Lillian later lived at Bethany on 42nd until her death.
Lillian will be remembered most for her witty personality, amazing fashion sense, and the love she had for her family.
