Lillian Onen

Lillian Dronen, 85, died Sunday, July 15, 2007, at Eventide Nursing Home, Moorhead, MN. Lillian Jeanette Swanson was born July 24, 1921, in Fargo, ND, to John and Hulda (Hanson) Swanson. She graduated from Central High School. After high school, she married Zenophile Grandbois in May 1942, in Fargo, ND. He died in WWII on September 18, 1944. She married Myron Dronen on June 21, 1947, in Fargo, ND. Lillian was employed by Gold Bond Stamp Store, JC Penny’s and the Fargo Forum. She retired from the Forum in 1981. Lillian volunteered at the gift shop at Bethany Homes for ten years. She was a lifetime member at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. She will be remembered by her grandchildren for her chocolate chip cookies. She loved to visit with her family. Lillian is survived by her children, Don (Cathy) Dronen, Fargo, ND; Richard (Peggy) Dronen, Alexandria, MN; Karen (Al) Fabricius, Fergus Falls, MN; and Bruce Dronen, Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren, Lisa, Todd, Jessa, Blake, Laura, Kari, Jodi, Jill, Jennifer and Melissa; great-grandchildren, Parker, Maxwell, Olivia, Alexis, Rebecca, Samuel, Jacob and Aubrie; one sister, Marcella (Clarence) Beck, Moorhead, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; brothers, Melvin, Lester and Myron Swanson. Funeral Service: Thursday, July 19, 2007, at 11:00 AM, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Visitation: One hour prior to the service. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
