Leone Kathleen Johnson (Kay) peacefully died March 4 and made what she said would be her best move ever – to heaven.
Born to Lee and Mabel Nelson April 26, 1921, in Coleharbor, ND, she moved to Fargo attending Interstate Business School. She married Gene Lundwall in 1943. After his passing at the end of WWII, she married Gordon Johnson in 1946. They celebrated life together for 63 years, raising five children. She worked at Forensic Engineers as an Administrative Secretary.
Kay enjoyed sports, playing bridge with friends and knitting – creating more than 50 afghans among other pieces.
She is survived by her sisters Marjorie Guenther and Carol (Bill) Ricker; her children – James (Missy) Lundwall; Linda (Jerry) Aune; Jacqueline (Don) Lanning; Gilbert (Gwen) Johnson; and Betty (Mark) Carlson – eleven dear grandchildren and fourteen beloved great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers or to honor Kay, her favorite charity is Lutheran World Relief.
