Leona Mildred Boldt passed away Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Sanford Palliative Care in Fargo, ND. Leona was born on December 7, 1929 on the family farm near Clyde, ND to Leonard and Mildred (Van Horn) Worms. She graduated as valedictorian from Clyde High School and then attended Jamestown College. She married Wilbur Boldt on July 26, 1953. The couple made their home in Bismarck, ND where they raised their two daughters. In 1979, they moved to Denver, CO where she was active in many clubs and learned to play bridge. They moved to Fargo in 1997.
Leona was a homemaker and took great pride in having a home where everyone was welcome. She loved taking care of her grandchildren and great-niece. Leona was an avid gardener and loved canning the fruits and vegetables she grew. Her other hobbies were sewing, needlework and bridge. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. Her greatest joy was being married to Wilbur. They recently celebrated their 66th anniversary.
Leona is survived by her husband, Wilbur; daughters, Barb (Steve) Parmer and Sandie Jepsen; grandchildren, Ethan Parmer, Hanna Jepsen, Clara Jepsen; step-grandchildren, Ben (Leah) Parmer, Alyssa (Brett) Gilbertson; four great grandchildren; brother, Donald (Dee) Wold; sister, Sharon Lilleberg (Jim Onerheim); and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Mildred, and her brothers Harold, Halford and Elmer and her son-in-law, Michael Jepsen.
Interment will be in the Clyde Community Cemetery at a later date.
