Leon Steven Fry of Fargo, North Dakota, passed away peacefully at home with his parents on March 21, 2021, from a rare genetic disorder called ARX Gene (XLAG); he was five months and two days old.
Leon was born October 19, 2020, to Bradley H. and Shelby D. (Olson) Fry at Sanford Health in Fargo, North Dakota. He was born with a rare genetic disorder that attacked his X chromosome, which caused him to have severe seizures and a smooth brain. Because of this, he was given a very short life expectancy, Leon was only the 19th known case of this disorder since it was discovered in 1999 and surpassed 50% of children with this disorder.
Leon was a very happy boy, although he only lived a short time, everyone who met him loved him. All he wanted was to be held in your arms where he could feel everyone’s love. He hated messy diapers and when things got too quiet, but his favorite things to do were kick to daddy or bounce any chance he got. Daddy was his hero, and Mommy was his love.
Leon will be missed every day. His grandfather scooped him up and took him to be with God; he may be missed but is never too far gone.
Leon was preceded in death by his grandfather, Steven J. Olson, and his uncle, Harvey R. Fry.
Leon is survived by his grandparents Harold and Melinda Fry (Buffalo, ND), Angie and Mark Richards (Georgetown, MN); aunts and uncles ,Thomas Fry, Ryan Strubbe, Melissa (Lyle) Strubbe, Brandi (Jacob) Coffee, John (Taryn) Olson and Tristan Olson; along with cousins, McKenna Fry, Sophie Fry, Lukas Strubbe, Natalee Strubbe, Nikki Burge, Alexandria Fry, Rylee Brewer, David Brewer, and Maisy Olson.
