Leanne Cosgriff

Leanne E. Cosgriff, 57, of Fargo, passed away at her residence on Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010. Leanne Ethel Ellingson was born May 15, 1953, in Fargo, to Maurice and Lois (Grinde) Ellingson. She graduated from Fargo North High School prior to attending Wahpeton School of Science. After earning a degree in dental hygiene, she worked as a dental hygienist in Fargo for the past 37 years in various offices, most recently employed by Dr. Lynne Olson Rommesmo. She married Allen Baumgartner on September 15, 1973. Together they had one son, Adam, whose family was one of Leanne’s greatest joys. She later married Jack Cosgriff on May 24, 1985 and was married to him for sixteen years before he passed away in 2001. Leanne was involved in many activities growing up and as a current member of Hope Lutheran Church. She was an active member of the Fargo Sons of Norway and volunteered many hours there. She was a founding member of the Kringen Accordian Band and enjoyed playing at many local events. Most important to Leanne was spending time with family. Growing up, she spent many summers in Portland, ND, on the farm of her aunt and uncle, Elaine and Orien Klath, and enjoying time with many of her cousins. In recent years, she truly lived for time with her grandchildren and step-grandchildren, and cherished every summer at her lake cabin on Lake Sallie in Detroit Lakes, MN. Over the past several years, Leanne also became a tireless provider for her parents and did everything possible to ensure they were cared for completely. Leanne is survived by her father, Maurice Ellingson of Fargo; son, Adam Baumgartner (Lynn) of LeMars, IA; brothers Paul Ellingson (Margaret) of Tucker, GA, Kent Ellingson (Kay) of Lewisville, TX and Brad Ellingson (Julie) of Acworth, GA; step-daughters Jane Cosgriff Sullwold (Bob) of Alameda, CA, Marty Cosgriff of Missoula, MT and Lisa Fleming of Englewood, CO; three grandchildren, Sidney, Jaxon and Carter Baumgartner; six step-grandchildren, Nick, Lexi and Mitch Rudh, Hunter Miner, Annelise and Cleveland Fleming; several nieces and nephews and her special friend of the past two-and-a-half years, Jerry Hanson, Northwood, ND. Leanne was preceded in death by her mother, Lois, and second husband, Jack. Memorial Service: Saturday, December 4, 2010, at 10:00 AM, at Hope Lutheran Church – South, Fargo, ND. Visitation: Friday, December 3, 2010, from 5-7 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM.
