Larry Fritz, 87, of Fargo, ND left this world to meet his Savior, Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Villa Maria under the care of Touchmark and Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Larry was born on August 2, 1930 in Cummings, ND to Frank and Celestine (Klontz) Fritz. He was one of fifteen children.
From 1950-1954 Larry served his country in the United States Air Force and received an honorable discharge in 1954. In 1960, Larry and his brothers, Raymond, Mathew, and Bud formed Fritz Electric in Fargo, ND. In 1999 he retired as a master electrician and sold the company.
Larry and his wife of thirty four years, Judy, were very active in the El Zagal Shrine where he held many positions: Board of Trustees (6 years), Recorder of the Shrine (5 years); he also served on the Board of the Masonic Lodge Care Center and many other committees. Larry was a very proud member of the Oriental Band and the Royal Order Jesters Court 67.
Larry enjoyed his lake cottage on Cotton Lake, which he and his sons, Brad and Brent helped him build. His greatest joy was when the family came to the lake for a visit.
Larry is survived by his wife, Judy; son, Brad (Lori) and grandchildren, Sophie and Max (Kelsey), Minnetonka, MN; son, Brent (Patty) and grandchildren, Evan and Derick, Eden Prairie, MN; stepson, Jef (Amy) Isaacson and step-grandchildren, Garret and Gavin, Minnetrista, MN; stepson, James (Katy) Isaacson and step-grandchildren, Elly and Casey of Moorhead, MN. Larry is also survived by two of his fifteen siblings, Sylvester “Bud” (Lola) and Madeline of Fargo, ND; brother-in-law, Ted Warren and sister-in-law, Sharon Fritz, plus numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 9 at 2:00PM at First Lutheran Church, Fargo. Gathering and visitation will begin at 1:00 PM followed by the Masonic service and Military rites.
Memorials are suggested to El Zagal Shrine Transportation Fund for Children, El Zagal Shrine Auxiliary Children’s Hospital, Scottish Rite Care Speech Center or Hospice of the Red River Valley.
