Lavon “Vonnie” Lammer, 71, Moorhead, MN, died unexpectedly Wednesday, April 30, 2008, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo. Lavon Anadell Peterson, the daughter of Lawrence and Theodora (Larson) Peterson, was born on June 23, 1936, in Fossum Township, near Faith, MN. She grew up on the family farm at Lockhart, MN, and graduated from Ada High School in 1954. On September 7, 1957, Vonnie married Lynn Lammer. They lived in Moorhead, Lake Hubert, MN and West Fargo, ND. Vonnie’s first priority was as a devoted wife and mother. In addition to being a homemaker, Vonnie worked for 30 years at Phil Wong’s Restaurant in Fargo. Most recently, she was a lunchroom supervisor at Ellen Hopkins Elementary School in Moorhead. Vonnie led a life of quiet service, strong work ethic and devotion to family and friends. She was active in Messiah Lutheran Church, Fargo, and she enjoyed summer weekends at Meadow Lake, MN. Vonnie is survived by two daughters, Kimberly (Ira) Bailey, Moorhead and Jill Lammer, Eden Prairie, MN; two grandchildren, Brin and Evan Bailey, Moorhead; sister, Eldora Sheldon, St. Cloud, MN; brothers, Larry (Betty Jo), Jon (Joanne) and Marv (Joan) Peterson of Lockhart; brothers-in-law Gary (Josie) Lammer, West Fargo; Rod (Pam) Lammer, LaMoure, ND; sisters-in-law, Joy Murray and Boni Lammer, Yakima, WA, and Marilyn Lammer, Kennewick, WA; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Jack Harrington and family, Grandin, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter, Maren Bailey and her husband, Lynn. Funeral Service: Monday, May 5, 2008, at 11:00 AM, at Messiah Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Visitation: Sunday, May 4, 2008, from 2-4 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. Prayer Service: Sunday, May 4, 2008, at 4:00 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold. Burial: Pleasant View Cemetery, Lockhart, MN.
