LaVern Beatrice Hoganson, age 102, of Fargo, ND, passed away on June 11, 2023, at Eventide Fargo.

LaVern was born on March 9, 1921, on her dad's birthday, near Great Bend, ND, to Philip and Rose (Radke) Worner. She attended rural school and freshman year at Great Bend and went on to graduate from Hankinson High School.

On October 6, 1940, she was united in marriage to Allen Miller. They had three children Chester, Sandra, and Allen. This marriage later dissolved, and she married Raynold Hoganson in 1979.

LaVern worked at Piggly Wiggly, the local grocery store, for over 31 years, becoming close friends with many of her customers. She was passionate about volunteering at First Lutheran Church, where she was a member for many years.

LaVern is survived by her son, Chester Miller of Fargo, ND; her daughter, Sandra Alexander, Sartell, MN; four granddaughters; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Marilyn (Don) Ehlers of Champaign, IL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raynold; son, Allen Miller, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Judy Miller; parents, Philip and Rose; her two sisters; and a great-granddaughter.
