LaVern M. Anderson, 82, of Fargo, ND, died Thursday, October 23, 2008, at Elim Care Center, Fargo. LaVern Weisser was born December 15, 1925, to Frank and Amelia (Ebel) Weisser at Grand Forks, North Dakota. The family moved to Fargo when LaVern was a child. She graduated from Central High School. LaVern married Edwin R. Anderson October 12, 1947, at Elim Lutheran Church in Fargo. She worked with the Luther League at Elim Lutheran Church, was the president of Roosevelt School PTA, member of the Elks Lodge Elkettes, Chairman of the El Zagal Shrine Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of Arab Patrol Ladies and active with her husband in the Provost Guard. LaVern is survived by two daughters, Pam Phillips, Jamestown, ND; and Susan (Dave Draovitch) Anderson, Bismarck, ND; two sons, Frank (Linnea) Anderson; and Bill (Julie) Anderson, all of Fargo, ND; two sisters, Kathleen (Emmett) Silins, Seattle, WA; and Esther Green, Seattle, WA; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edwin, who died July 19, 2003, two sisters, Ruth Laydon and Margaret “Peggy” Dahl; brothers, Elmer “Al” Weisser; and Herb Weisser. Funeral Service: Tuesday, October 28, 2008, at 2:00 PM, at Elim Lutheran Church, 321 9th St. N., Fargo, ND. Visitation: Monday, October 27, 2008, from 5-7 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, 215 S. 7th St., Fargo, ND. Prayer Service: Monday, October 27, 2008, at 7 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold. Burial: Clara Lutheran Cemetery, Comstock, Minnesota.
