Kyle Lorrine (Good) Hagel, 79, passed away on May 17, 2023, a stunning spring day that would have thrilled her! Kyle was born on June 14, 1943, in LaMoure, ND, to Irl and Lorraine (Mattson) Good and was the youngest of their three girls. It was in LaMoure that she spent her youth and was educated, all while weaving tales of working a popcorn stand on summer Saturday nights, adventures with best friends, and barn dances. It was at one such dance that she caught the eye of the handsome new guy in town, Bert Hagel. They married on December 29, 1959, and had an amazing 52 years together. They moved to Fargo in 1961, and it was there that they filled their life with dancing, pinochle, cattle buying, and three daughters that adored them. Kyle enjoyed baking, growing an incredible garden, visiting the farmer's market, and eating a fresh heirloom tomato. But most of all, she loved spending time with her girls and their families.
Kyle is survived by her three daughters, Dawn (Ken) Howe of Fergus Falls, Debbie (Jeff) Uline of Bismarck, and Terri (Bruce) Messelt of Stillwater, MN; seven grandchildren, Alex Howe, Kylie (Braden) Ashworth, Kacie (David) Schlecht, Bryce (Hunter) Uline, Katie, Ellie and Annie Messelt; and nine great-grandchildren, Faith, Ethan, Ian, Garik and Anthony Schlecht, Hesly Uline and Taran, Rowan, and Beckett Ashworth. She is also survived by her sisters, Merlyn Rausch and Irlene Good, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Kyle wanted to donate beef to the local food shelter. If you are interested in joining Kyle's last endeavor to feed those in need, visit her GoFundMe page to donate!
