FARGO, ND – Kurt L. Welsh, 61, died Tuesday, Oct. 18, in his home.
Kurt Welsh was born on November 16, 1954 in Langdon, ND to William & Veda (Evans) Welsh. He was married to Sharon Johnston on October 4, 1979 and they divorced in 1993. He is survived by his three children, Jason (Amber) Welsh, Fargo, ND , Megan (Travis) Strand, Mandan, ND and Shane Welsh, Tracy, CA; grandchildren, Tegan Welsh, Rylen Welsh and Jace Strand; siblings, Beverly Robillard, Linda (Walter) Cardwell, William (Salud) Welsh and Victor (Maureen) Welsh. He is preceded in death by his parents, William & Veda (Evans) Welsh and brother-in-law, Wayne Robillard.
After graduating Langdon High School in 1975 he attended Wahpeton State for auto body. In 1977 he returned to the family farm where he farmed with his father, William Welsh, until his passing in 1987. He continued to operate the family farm and Amber Enterprises (est. 1990) until 1995 when he moved to Fargo, ND. He was employed by Phoenix International (1995-1997) and SpartanNash (1997-2016). He also owned and operated Final Touch Painting & Staining.
Kurt was a loving father, grandfather and friend. He loved, adored and took great pride in his children and grandchildren and their accomplishments. His hobbies included traveling, motorcycling, camping, restoring antiques and spending time with his family. He was a great friend to all that knew him, including his children. His presence in our lives, wit and sense of humor, will be greatly missed, but his memory will last forever.
