Kathryn Lorraine Manley passed away Sunday, March 25, 2007, at Bethany Homes, Fargo, ND. Kathryn Lorraine Coleman was born in Fargo, North Dakota, July 23, 1923 to John and Gardia (Lura) Coleman. Lorraine was raised and educated in Fargo where she graduated from Fargo Central in 1941. She attended Moorhead State University, graduating in 1945. She was a member of the Beta Chi Sorority. Lorraine was united in marriage to Thomas Manley August 17, 1952, in Fargo, where they lived and raised two children. Lorraine worked for the Moorhead Public Library from 1940-45. She was the Physical Education teacher at Moorhead Junior High from 1946-52; Ben Franklin Junior High; Hawthorne Elementary of Fargo from 1952-54. She taught the class of Slimnastics for 17 years for the Fargo Adult Education Program, which she truly enjoyed. Lorraine also served on the Camp Fire Board from 1966-74, serving for three years as president. She was a long time member of the Pioneer Daughters, St. Mark’s Quilters and Church Circle. Lorraine truly loved spending time with her grandchildren telling stories, reading books and having tea parties with lots of laughter and hugs. She enjoyed watching them grow like the tulips, lilies and peonies in her flower beds. She always had an art and craft project or a “Word Find” book for them to help with. Lorraine is survived by her two children, daughter, Kathy (John) Kulink; son, Ralph (Colleen) Manley; sisters, Joyce Eaton and Marjorie Mitchell; grandchildren, Jake, Brain, Aaron and Myla Rulink; Cole Davis; Rachel, Curt and Breanna Manley. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Gardia Coleman; her husband, Tom; and her brother, Albert (Bud) Coleman. Lorraine’s family would like to thank all of her caregivers at Bethany Homes for all the love and special care given to her. Funeral Service: Friday, March 30, 2007, at 10:30 AM, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Visitation: Thursday, March 29, 2007, from 5-7 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
