Kevin Moriarty, 63, of Fargo, ND, died peacefully at home Thursday, February 14, 2019 in Fargo.
Kevin Brian Moriarty was born July 30, 1955 in Council Bluffs, IA to Dr. Darwin and Doris (Degnan) Moriarty.
Kevin was a man who lived life on his own terms. He was kind, loyal, and loved spending time with his friends. He was a devoted collector of music and was very knowledgeable about bands and the pop culture surrounding them. He spent his early years in Iowa and moved to Fargo with his mother and sister in 1973, to help run the family business, Cloud 9, in the West Acres Mall.
His curiosity and desire to try new things led to a colorful life, but he always came home for Skippy Peanut Butter. Throughout his life, he remained very close to his mother and his sister, Colleen. In recent years, he and Colleen had taken trips to their childhood summer cabin on the Boulder River in Montana. Kevin delighted in learning more about the local history of the area, and the experience of visiting there after so many years was extraordinary. Kevin loved dogs, especially the dachshunds their family had over the years. Kevin became ill two years ago, and although he overcame the cancer, it left him weakened and unable to work.
Kevin valued his friendships above all and maintained lifelong relationships with many creative and wonderful people. The memories of the good times with friends were a source of joy and comfort through his illness. Kevin will be deeply missed by his best friend and sister, Colleen, who was by his side throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, and he is survived by his sister and several cousins.
