Kenton Michael Jensen

Kenton M Jensen passed away peacefully on May 19, 2024 at Sanford Hospice House in Fargo following a valiant and lengthy health battle. He was 69 years old.
Born on September 17, 1954 to Ernest and Carol Jensen in Minot, ND, Kent’s early years were shaped by spending time in the outdoors in and around Minot. After graduating from Minot High School in 1972 he attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks and graduated with a BA in Geography and an MA in Natural Resources from NDSU in Fargo.
An avid Bison booster, he rarely missed a football or basketball game, and attended several NDSU championship football games in Frisco, TX. He loved travel, sports and the outdoors, especially the lake.
Kent utilized his vast geographic information system (GIS) knowledge in various positions before attaining employment at NDSU doing agricultural research. He retired from NDSU in 2021.
Kent was beloved and will be dearly missed by his very special person, Mary Breneman-Turner, her sons, daughter in law and grandchildren, his sister, Susan (Bruce) Montgomery, niece, Emilie (Rich) Hamilton, nephew, Christiaan (Chris) Montgomery, great nieces, Mae and Greta, great nephew, Hudson and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Carol Jensen of Fargo.
