Kent Allen Johnson

Kent Allen Johnson, was born on August 30, 1954 in Breckenridge, MN to Corrine and Ernest H. Johnson. Kent grew up on the family farm near Campbell, MN.

Kent attended Maplewood Academy, Sheyenne River Academy and Tintah High School where he graduated. Kent went on to pursue a college education at Bemidji State in Bemidji, MN. He enjoyed college to the fullest. Kent married and had a son Jeremy Johnson.

In 1974 Kent had a terrible accident. The accident left Kent in a coma for months, it was a true miracle that he survived. Kent had a long recovery learning to walk and talk again. He had many challenges and surgeries due to all of the trauma caused by the accident. Thru the years he continued to have challenges that should have taken his life. He had more lives than any cat. Kent was a true SURVIVOR and inspiration.

Ernie and Corrine sold the farm a few years after Kent's accident and they all moved to Wahpeton, ND. In Wahpeton Kent attended school at the State School of Science where he took business classes. He enjoyed working, and he worked at Pamida, All Seasons Car Wash, and later mowed yards in Wahpeton. He took great pride in making sure things looked well maintained. He also was able to get the lawn mower stuck at Dr. E.R. Wasemillers many many many times. The last 2 years he enjoyed helping at Personal Touch Marketing whenever he could. He enjoyed the people and feeling useful.

Kent's favorite things were food, and food, and food, and also fun with family and friends. He should have been a food critic because he loved to try any and all foods and never gained weight. Kent was an inspiration and tried to make the best out of what life had to offer Kent loved football, food, walking and going out to eat. He had great faith in God and looked forward to better, happier days with no suffering.

Kent spent the last two years at Elim Health Care in Fargo, ND. There he was able to spend more time with family.

Kent passed away on Sunday April 28, 2024 at Essentia Hospital in Fargo, ND from pneumonia.

Kent is survived by his sisters Jeannine Hehir and Cheri Johnson, niece Jenica, nephew Andrew Hehir, great nephew-Salem Hehir, Uncle and Aunts: John and Rena Lang, Ramona Lang, Donna and Lewis Johnson, Mardella (Johnson) Bergquist and many cousins and friends.

Kent was preceded in death by his son Jeremy Johnson, mother Corrine A. (Lang) Johnson, father-Ernest H. Johnson, brother- Brian Johnson, brother-in-law Terry Hehir, grandparents Sophia and John Lang, Wilma and Jay Johnson, Uncles and Aunts, cousins, and friends.

Memorial Service: 5:30pm, Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Fargo Seventh-day Adventist Church, Fargo, ND.
