Kenneth Reginald Sveum Jr., age 70, was peacefully birthed into Heaven on January 10, 2017. His family was lovingly present and he was blessed to receive the tender care of those who cared for him on staff at the Palliative Care Unit at Sanford Hospital, Fargo.
Kenny Jr. was born on April 20, 1946 to Kenneth R. Sveum, Sr. and Glorella A. (Thue) at
St. John’s Hospital in Fargo. He lived in Wyndmere, ND then moved to Fargo in 1949.
Kenny went to school in Wyndmere, Kindred, and Fargo Central. After school, Kenny Jr. worked out in California for awhile and then came back to Fargo. He met and married the love of his life, Julie Hoffman, in 1964 in Detroit Lakes, MN. Then they were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Elizabeth (Beth) Sveum.
As a young boy he worked on family farms and sold newspapers for the Fargo Forum downtown. He loved seeing, meeting and talking with the business people. He worked at UPS delivering packages to many communities around the area and worked with his brother Jeff at F-M Engraving. He was an awesome salesman; he had a way with people. Kenny was a member of the Teamsters Union and drove truck for the pipeline years ago. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Eagles.
Kenny loved his family, friends and get-togethers. He enjoyed playing Bingo and singing karaoke when he had the chance. He was a huge Elvis Presley fan since he was a little boy.
Kenny loved making people laugh and smile and blush (hehe Sheri). He had a huge heart too. He really enjoyed the lakes, swimming, fishing, grilling, cars, and spending time with family and friends.
His warm smile will be missed by many. He was a very kind hearted, gentle soul, who many really didn't get to know. One of the things he said in the last two weeks was, "Live life to the fullest, do it now or forever wish you had. Do what makes you happy and follow your heart.”
Grateful she had the opportunity to share in his journey is his daughter Beth (Fargo), and grand-dog, Kobi.
He is survived by his sister, Debbie (West Fargo); brother, Jeff (Denver, Colorado); brother and sister-in-law, Joe (Marly) Heintz (Surprise, AZ) and aunts, uncles and cousins.
Kenny Jr. was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Julie; daughter, Kimberly; parents, Kenneth R. Sveum, Sr. and Glorella Sveum and many others who have gone Home before him.
The family wishes to express their appreciation for your kindness and support during this difficult time, and would like to say a big “Thank You” to all of the Doctors, Nurses and Aides and a special “Thank You” to his Peach of a Dr., Christina Harmon, who took such good care of him on his journey through all of this.
