Kelly Jeanne Quinton passed away peacefully on February 2, 2017 at age 51 with family by her side after a courageous four month battle with cancer.
Kelly was born on February 2, 1966 to Janeth (Schroder) and James Shea in Sioux City, Iowa. She graduated from Sioux City East High School in 1984 and attended Iowa State University and Morningside College. She was married to Jeff Levich from 1988 to 2001. Kelly’s focus in life was her children David, Julianne, Michael, and stepsons Mitchell and Jake and she was an amazing mother. On June 7, 2006 she married the love of her life, Corey Quinton. Kelly was employed for the past 16 years at Scheel’s and had a passion for her work and cherished the time she spent with her co-workers.
Kelly had a unique gift for living every moment totally and completely. Her grace, beauty, and spirit made it impossible not to enjoy time spent with her. She was a talented athlete, loved music and sports of all types, and was a passionate Kansas Jayhawks basketball fan. She loved to travel and experience new things. Kelly had three golden retrievers during her lifetime and enjoyed training them and spending time with them outdoors.
Kelly is survived by her husband, Corey Quinton and her children David Mayer, Julianne Levich, Michael Levich , and stepsons Mitchell Quinton, and Jacob Quinton. She is also survived by her parents William and Janeth Burke, her grandfather Eldon Schroder, her uncles Rex and Ronald Schroder and her aunt Dottie Guilbert, and numerous cousins and extended family. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Beth Schroder and her aunt Judy Williams.
In lieu of flowers, Kelly’s family suggests memorials to the Roger Maris Cancer Center or the Kelly Quinton Benefit Fund c/o Gate City Bank.
