Kathryn "Kathy" Darlene Erickson

Kathryn (Kathy) Darlene Erickson, 57, Fargo, ND died Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Sanford Palliative Care Unit, after a courageous 12 year battle with cancer. She passed away with her family by her side.

Kathryn Darlene Fetzer was born February 11, 1958 to Alvin and Cecile Fetzer in Minot, ND. She was raised in Moorhead, MN and graduated from Moorhead High in 1976.

Kathryn worked for Qwest from 1979-1999. She also spent some time working as manager of the Milnor Improvement Bar & Grill, at the Teamsters, Holiday Inn, and Lewis and Clark Café. She was vice president of CWA (Communication Workers of America) for many years. She had a true passion for bargaining and representing the Union.

Kathy was a very active person, always on the go! She loved to garden, cook, and do misc. crafting. She loved spending time with her children, family and friends. Her favorite place to be was near the water, whether it be at the lake or near the ocean. She had a huge heart and was willing to help anyone in need. She would often say, “There’s always someone worse off than me.”
She was a great mother, sister and friend. She was a true fighter throughout her whole life. She will be greatly missed and forever loved by all that knew her.

Kathy is survived by her son, Benjamin Kippen (Abby Stauss), Fargo, ND; her daughter, Kristi (Dan) Bartlett, Fargo, ND; son, Jaden Erickson, Milnor, ND; 3 grandchildren: Ashton, Laney, Elle Bartlett, Fargo, ND; sister, Lisa (John) Otteson, Garrison, ND; niece, Linda (John) Wilson, Garrison, ND; nephews, John Otteson, Minot, ND and Kevin Otteson, Garrison, ND; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins on both the Fetzer and Bauer sides, along with great friends and co-workers over the years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Cecile Fetzer; her brother, Michael Fetzer and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
