Kathleen Rae Otheim, 83, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Bethany on University in Fargo, under the care of Ethos Hospice. Born Kathleen Rae Marcusen on December 23, 1940, in Dickinson, ND, she was the daughter of Homer "Ray" and Kathryn (Dulwick) Marcusen.

Kathleen graduated from high school in Taylor, ND, before beginning her college studies at North Dakota State University and ultimately graduating from Montana State University. It was at Montana State that she met Norman Orville Otheim, whom she married in August 1964 in Taylor, ND.

Throughout their life together, Kathleen and Norman lived in Racine, WI; Jonesboro, AR; and spent many years making their home in Lisbon, ND. Following Norman's passing in 1998, Kathleen relocated to Fargo in 2012.

As a dedicated homemaker, Kathleen cherished her time with family, particularly at their lake home.

She is survived by her three sons, Norm, Doug, and Wes (Wendy) Otheim; and five grandchildren, Travis Stadum, Taylor Otheim, Chase Otheim, Ellise Otheim, and Talan Otheim. Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home in Fargo, ND, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at 11:00 AM Mountain Time on Friday, September 13, 2024, at Pioneer Cemetery in Taylor, ND.
