Katharine Rose Clark, “Kathy”, 73, of Fargo, ND passed away on Monday, November 1, 2021.
Kathy was born on May 25, 1948 in Fargo to Perry and Elizabeth (Payne) Clark. She attended school in Fargo and graduated from Fargo Central in 1966.
In her teenage years, Kathy was rambunctious and a rebel… who rebelled early and often! In 1967 (the Summer of Love) she and a friend made a road trip to San Francisco. Fortunately, Kathy did make it back home, eventually, her friend did as well.
Kathy attended Moorhead State (MSUM) and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education in December of 1970.
In November of 1988, she upgraded her Bachelor’s Degree to include Special Education. Post-graduation, Kathy taught school in North Dakota and Florida.
In the 1980’s, Kathy took a recess from teaching to become a Travel Agent. While being a Travel Agent, she travelled the world. She definitely took advantage of her Travel Agent perks!
Kathy returned to teaching in the late 80’s and 90’s, landing in Minneapolis. There, she focused on Special Education, primarily at Minneapolis North and Southwest High Schools.
Upon her Father’s passing in 1999, she returned to Fargo. Then, Kathy worked some part-time jobs with the Fargo Forum and the Salvation Army.
She had a unique talent and flair for Arts and Crafts. Kathy would create with her talents throughout her life. Kathy adored her friends, family and relatives. She loved sending greeting cards on all Holidays to friends and family. Those, along with many other “Kathy-isms” and of course, she will be dearly missed.
Kathy was a philanthropist and a member of… or donated to a number of charitable organizations, which included: The Sierra Club, Easter Seals, National Wildlife Foundation, Special Olympics, Northern Plains Reservation Aid, Shriners Hospital for Children, Disabled Veterans and more.
Kathy is survived by her brother, Spencer Clark (Diane Stephens) of Littleton, Colorado, her nephew, Kelly Clark, Minnesota, and her grand-nephew, Keegan Clark, Juneau, Alaska.
A private ceremony will be held for Kathy at Riverside Cemetery on Wednesday, November 17, 2021.
