Kari Annette Anderson, 59, Fargo, died on July 13, 2019, after a long and courageous fight with cancer.
Kari was born on September 3, 1959 in Fargo, ND to Harvey and Charleen Greuel. She graduated from Fargo South High School in 1977. After graduation Kari worked in various jobs throughout Fargo-West Fargo and Moorhead including; bartending, gaming, travel agent, and at Cable One as a customer service agent. Kari spent time living in Ft. Meyers, Florida and Las Vegas, Nevada. Kari married Dale Anderson on October 13, 2003 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The last ten years before she was diagnosed with cancer, Kari enjoyed working in motel management and banquet planning.
Kari organized various fundraisers in the community. The one she was the most proud of was the “Twist of Fate”, where handicapped hunters are matched with guides in the community. There was not a dry eye in the camp when her own nephew, Matthew, harvested his first deer. Kari was most noted for her wit and humor. Even through her illness, Kari put everyone else’s needs above her own.
Kari lived for her family, especially her great nieces and nephews. They were the light of her life and the reason she fought this battle so long. It is well known, if mom or grandma said no – go ask Auntie Kari was the theme. In fact, she was known as everyone’s “Auntie Kari”.
Kari is survived by her husband, Dale Anderson; her mother, Charleen; three sisters, Kim (Ed) Samuelson, Kathy (Jeff) Morken and Kelly (Lowell Albert) Beilke; nieces and nephews: Lindsay (fiancé Casey Dubord) and Nicole Rhodes, Matthew Bielke and Jared Morken, along with their children Allandra and Leyaunna Arechigo and Kalani Rhodes. Kari has two step daughters, Amber (Jim Jandro) Tougas and Ashley (Tony) Anderson, along with their children William and Vincent Jandro and Brody and Emmalyn Anderson; step nephew and nieces: Kristen (Steve) Reinertson, John (Colleen) Samuelson and their children Keir, Morgan and Everett Samuelson; James (Sherece) Rhodes, Shannon (Todd) Range and their children Garrett, Gage, and Gabi Range, Gary (Kelli) Cook Jr., and their children Garrett, Brooklynne, Hunter, and Vyncynt Cook and one great-great nephew, Xavier. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who meant the world to her; family was Kari's life.
Kari was preceded in death by her father Harvey, her grandparents: Paul and Lillian Greuel, William and Dorothy Pfingsten and Charles and Caroline Challstrom.
A special prayer and thanks to Dr. Preston Steen, Noreen Clark, Bev Anderson, and the staff at the Roger Maris Cancer Center and the Palliative floor. Due to their excellent care, Kari survived many more years than expected. God Bless each and every one of them.
