Karen L. Sorsen

Karen L. Sorsen, 55 of Fargo, died Thursday, July 5, 2012 at her home in Fargo, ND.

Karen was born January 11, 1957 to Kelsey and Lillian (Challstromm) Klatt in Moorhead, MN. She attended South High School. She was very active on the swim team.
She married Kermin Vangerud I on January 19, 1976. They had one son, Kermin Vangerud II and lived in Fargo, ND.

Karen worked in nursing and has a passion for helping people. She was a CNA for many years and in 2002 fulfilled her goal of becoming a nurse, graduating from Moorhead Technical College.
One June 14, 1996 she married Mark Sorsen. They had one son together, Jared Sorsen and lived in Grandin, ND.

In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and reading. She took great joy in watching her sons and grandchildren grow.

She is survived by her two sons, Kermin (Kerrilee) Vangerud II, Lidgerwood, ND and Jared Sorsen, Fargo, ND; three brothers, Kelsey Klatt Jr., Stem, NC, Dale Klatt, Fargo, ND and Kevin Klatt, Fargo, ND; sister, Kathy Klatt, Phoenix, AZ; two grandchildren, Caylie Huwe, Casselton, ND and Kelsey Vangerud, Lidgerwood, ND and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Duane Klatt and Gerald Ringler and husband Kermin L. Vangerud I.

Memorial Service: Wednesday, July 11, 2012, 2:00 PM at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND.

Visitation: One hour prior to services at Hanson-Runsvold.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
