Karen Ann Ernst

Karen A. Ernst, 72 of Moorhead, passed away Wednesday, April 23 at her home under the care of Hospice.

Karen was born September 29, 1941 in Fargo, ND, to parents Torkel “Tom” and Greta Espevoll. She grew up in the Fargo area and graduated from West Fargo High School in 1959. She married Loren Ernst on June 23, 1962 in Sabin, MN.

Karen enjoyed traveling, decorating, playing cards, shopping and spending time with her family – especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Loren, of Moorhead; children, Tammy (Robert) Flaten of Hawley, MN, and Bradley (Anne) Ernst of Eden Prairie, MN; four grandchildren, Kari (Matthew) Skauge, Hawley, MN, Kristi (Shawn) Uhlig, Hawley, MN, Megan (Nate) Ernst, Rosemount, MN and Alyson Ernst, Chaska, MN; six step-grandchildren, Kate Larson, Minneapolis, MN, Carina Larson, Jordan, MN, Jack Larson, Jordan, MN, Andie Bonkowske, Eden Prairie, MN, Caden Bonkowske, Eden Prairie, MN and Maddie Bonkowske, Eden Prairie, MN; and three great-grandchildren, Makayla Uhlig, Hawley, MN, Faith Uhlig, Hawley, MN and Brayden Skauge, Hawley, MN.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley.
