June E. Robinson, 95, of Fargo, ND died Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Bethany on University, Fargo.
June Edith Lowth was born April 17, 1918 in Revere, ND, to Edward William Lowth and Isabelle Grace Lowth. She grew up around New Rockford and lived with her grandparents while attending school in Cooperstown. Her parents moved to Fargo, where she went to Agassiz and Fargo Central until her senior year, when they moved to Detroit Lakes. She graduated from DL in 1936. She then attended college in Bozeman, MT as her family had moved to Minot.
She met and married Dwayne Farrell Robinson of Minot on March 14, 1941 in Montana. She worked many years in fashion stores like Buttreys and Stevensons, and moved back to Fargo after moving several times around the country during the WWII years. Dwayne was an army officer. June also modeled for the Elketts. She was very active, winning many bowling trophies, singing with the Sweet Adelines for many years, and serving as Deacon of her church, First Presbyterian. She and Dwayne were also active in the Eagles and Elks clubs. June enjoyed several bridge clubs, and worked with the “Town Hall” lecture series. Dwayne died in April, 1988.
June is survived by two children, Sharyn K. (Gerald) Juran, born Dec 6, 1942; Mark E. (Vicki) Robinson, born Dec. 3, 1953; sister, Marion Fruh, Bismarck, ND; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dwayne; and brother, Robert Lowth.
In her later years, June and Clarence “Abe” Abraham shared a loving companionship. He died in 2000. In recent years June resided at Bethany on University.
