Judy Ireland Williams, a resident of Fargo ND, was born on May 15, 1923 in Wadena, MN. She died on July 12, 2017 at the home of her daughter, Elizabeth Williams, with family by her side.
Judy was the only child of Gladys and Glen Ireland. She was a proud Girl Scout for most of her childhood in Wilmar, MN. She graduated from Washburn High School in Minneapolis in 1941 and attended the University of Minnesota. Judy was married to Milton T. (Tom) Williams on May 31st, 1944. They lived in Edina, Minnesota and moved to Fargo in 1958 where Tom was the owner of Gateway Builders and Judy owned Commercial Interiors.
Judy enjoyed interior design, duplicate bridge and dancing. She was a charter member of the Junior League where she played a major role in bringing Prairie Public Broadcasting to Fargo, working with Dr. Donat, the founder of Educational TV, and serving on the Board of Directors of Educational TV. Judy was a member of Gethsemane Episcopal Cathedral where she served on the Chapter and altar guild. She was a member of the Fargo Country Club for 50 years.
Judy married James C. Wilkins on October 13, 2012 and they spent many happy years together at Touchmark in Fargo. He passed away on Friday, July 14, 2017, just two days after Judy.
Judy is survived by her children Duffy (Jane) Williams, Scott Williams (Michelle Boyer), Elizabeth Williams (Paul Berthelsen), all Fargo, and Kelly (Annell) Williams, Dallas, and grandchildren Matthew (Elsa), Benjamin and Alex Williams, Sydney and Ryan Williams, Katherine (Tate) Petry, Griffin (Alexandra) and Cora Williams, Nick (Erin) Berthelsen, Caleb (Malisa) Berthelsen, and Peter (Stepanie) Berthelsen, and 7 great grandchildren.
Judy was predeceased by her parents and her first husband, Tom. Three words that sum up Judy’s life are happy, wonderful, and lucky.
