Judith Milynn Triebwasser, affectionately known as Judy, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on October 9, 2024, at Sanford Hospice House in Fargo, ND. Judy was born July 19, 1939, in Thief River Falls, MN, to Milton and Evelyn Larson.

Judy graduated from Concordia College in 1965 with a degree in teaching. She began her career as a first-grade teacher in St. Louis Park, MN and later became the first public school kindergarten teacher in Moorhead MN. Judy married Norman Triebwasser, son of Edward and Olga Triebwasser, in Fargo on August 2, 1968. After marriage, Judy shifted her focus to raising her family while continuing to contribute to the community. She was a dedicated member of the Junior League, the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Women’s Association, Oak Grove Board of Regents, and the Concordia College Alumni Board. Judy also worked at Country Greenery for seven years, where her passion for gardening and nature flourished. She was deeply involved in Trollwood Village, a business that she and Norm built from the ground up, working tirelessly to help its growth and success.

Judy’s love for family extended beyond her immediate relatives. She cherished spending time at Pelican Lake where she spent every summer since 1947, and at Lake of the Woods since 1965. Judy enjoyed swimming and canoeing with her cousins and friends. She was also an avid sports fan, always cheering on her children and grandchildren at their sporting events, musicals, and concerts. Judy was a loyal supporter of NDSU Bison basketball and football, as well as professional golf, football, and tennis.

To escape the harsh winters, Judy and Norm would travel to Islamorada, Florida, where they enjoyed the warm waters, fishing, sunshine, and good friends. In addition to her love for sports, Judy adored her dog, Lily, who was her constant companion and pride and joy. Judy’s warmth, generosity, and passion for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Norman Triebwasser, as well as her parents, Evelyn and Milton Larson. She is survived by her two sons, Nate (Lynette), granddaughters Neva, Grace, and Reagan of Hawley, MN, and Bill (Kim), grandson Will and granddaughter Josie of Reiles Acres, ND. Judy also leaves behind her brothers Dick (Gayle)Larson, Fargo, ND, Steve Larson of Park Rapids, MN, and her sister Libbie Brunsvold of Sartell, MN. She is lovingly remembered by her 12 nieces and nephews and 22 great-nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at First Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND on October 19th, 2024.  Visitation at 9am with celebration of life at 10 AM.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sanford Hospice House in her name.
