Judy Isaacson Fritz, 79, Fargo, ND, passed away Friday, January 25, 2019, at her home in Fargo. Judy was born October 17, 1939, to Mae and LeRoy McCallson in Hannaford, ND.
After graduating from high school, Judy moved to Fargo and worked for JCPenney and WDAY. She married Donald Isaacson in 1960, and they welcomed twin sons, Jefrey and James, in 1963.
In 1977, Donald’s job took the family to Iran. Sadly, Donald became ill and the family returned to Fargo. Donald passed away in 1978.
Judy went to work for Drs. Joyce and Klemz, and later at Piper Jaffray. She loved her job as the “voice” of the brokerage firm and interacting with the customers! Judy retired from Piper Jaffray after 22 years but stayed busy volunteering at the Sanford gift shop and actively participating in the El Zagal Shrine Auxiliary. She was instrumental in organizing the annual style show and other Shrine events.
Judy married Larry Fritz in 1984. Together they enjoyed El Zagal Shrine activities, traveling, entertaining and summertime weekends at their cabin on Cotton Lake. Judy especially enjoyed when the kids and grandkids would all gather there! Larry passed away in 2017.
Judy also enjoyed many travels with her lady friends. She visited many parts of the world, including China, Russia, Italy, Egypt, the Mediterranean, Mexico and the Panama Canal. She also enjoyed dining out, which led to her recent adventure as a food critic! She and her dear friend, Karen Houston, became “The Dining Divas” and wrote restaurant reviews for their condominium newsletter.
Judy was a loving and caring wife, sister, mother, grandmother and friend, and we all knew how much she loved us!
Grateful for sharing her life are her brother, Jerome “Butch” McCallson, Hannaford, ND; sons, Jefrey (Amy) Isaacson and grandchildren, Gavin and Garrett, Minnetrista, MN; James (Kathy) Isaacson and grandchildren, Elly and Casey, Moorhead; stepchildren, Brad (Lori) Fritz and grandchildren, Max (Kelsey) and Sophie; Brent (Patty) Fritz and grandchildren, Evan and Derick; and “adopted” family members, Ward (Kathy) Isaacson and children, Nolan and Dillon; Tami Isaacson and children, Cole and Clare; and special friend, Karen Houston.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and nephew, Scott Isaacson.
Memorials are suggested to El Zagal Shrine Transportation Fund for Children and the El Zagal Shrine Auxiliary.
