Judith Eileen Becker, 86, died on Thursday, April 6, 2023.
Judy was born March 1, 1937, in Redwood Falls, MN, to Evelyn Pearl and Herald H. Becker. She graduated from high school in Red Wood Falls in 1955. She participated in band and choir and led the band as head majorette while in high school.
In 1958, Judy graduated from Northwestern Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis and chose a career working in the operating room. Judy married her high school sweetheart Roger Leopold in 1958. They moved to Harwood, ND, where they adopted and raised two beautiful children, Derek and Darin. She worked in the emergency room and operating rooms for most of her career in Minneapolis, Bozeman, MT, and Fargo, ND. She also worked for Blue Cross, where she eventually retired.
In the early 90s, Judy found love again with her partner Richard Lauckner and was devastated by his passing in 1994. However, in 1995 she found happiness once more when she was remarried to a wonderful man, Gary Arneson, whom she lived with until his passing in 2015.
Judy was a very strong and faithful woman. She raised her boys to be strong, independent, and faithful individuals, as well as being trustworthy, honest, and hard-working. Most of all, she taught her sons to love from the depths of their souls.
Judy was preceded in death by her son Darin; her parents, Evelyn and Harold; her sisters, JoAnn and Rosalie; her partner, Richard; her husband, Gary; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who she is currently reunited with in Heaven. She is survived by her son, Derek (Carrie); and her ten grandchildren, who brought great joy to her life.
