Joyce Tamona (Nystul) Stigen, passed away on February 6, 2012, at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Fergus Falls, where she presided since May, 2008. Joyce was born April 29, 1922 in Leonard, ND, to Adolph and Helmine (Lynnes) Nystul. She moved with her family to Fargo in 1929 and attended school there, graduating from Central High School. She attended Concordia College, and spent two summers working at Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks. She met her future husband, Melvin Stigen, while working with her brother at his Fargo business, Nystul Cleaners. Joyce and Melvin married on May 31, 1958 at Olivet Lutheran Church in Fargo. Joyce is survived by her daughter, Diane and granddaughter Stella, of Hopkins, MN; and sisters-in-law, Ruth, Betty, and Dorothy Nystul. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; son, Daniel Joseph; and brothers, Orville, Joseph, Vernon (and LaVerne), Arthur (and Helen), Aldon, and Adolph Leroy. Funeral Service: Thursday, February 9, 2012, at 10:00 AM. at Olivet Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo.
