Joyce was born September 15, 1925 in Ridgeland, WI to Hugh and Mary (Pollock) Lorshbough. Growing up, she helped her family care for the farm. Her father didn't believe in girls finishing high school so she moved away to a boarding house for 2 years to work for her room and board so she could attend school. After this time her father allowed her to come home to finish school, where she graduated from Prairie Farm, WI. Joyce married the love of her life, Herbert Bauch on June 12, 1946 in Cameron, WI. They moved to Fargo, ND in the early 1950s where they raised their 3 children. Joyce had various jobs throughout the years but raising her children was by far her greatest pleasure. She had the privilege of being a leader for her children’s’ Cub Scout and Blue Bird Groups. She did various craft activities including ceramics, quilt making and embroidery. Joyce was also active in her bible studies and "lunch with the girls." After Herb retired they traveled throughout the United States and Canada with Jim and Mary; she collected various spoons from their trips. When they weren't traveling they attended their grandchildren's sporting events, and visited relatives at "the farm." As the years went by, she would move into Edgewood Vista Assisted Living. She was known as the “Ambassador” of the welcoming committee. She loved social events as well as being the "Bingo Queen." Joyce enjoyed reading warm-hearted books but also the "who-done-it?" books. Joyce liked to figure out the clues of "who-done-it" and her family referred to her as the "clue lady." In her spare time she enjoyed crossword puzzles, adding to her collection of angels and “Facebooking” on her kindle with her grandchildren.
Joyce is survived by her son, Rod and Karen Bauch, Somerset, WI; 2 daughters, Karen and Dan Dean, Georgetown, MN and Kris and Bob Haskins, Baldwin, ND; her brother, Jim and Mary Lorshbough, Brighton, CO; 5 grandchildren, Kim Williams, Scott and Molly Bauch, Sam Bauch, Sunny Haskins, Cody Haskins; and 5 great-grandchildren, Torey, Marquis, Tyshaun, Brody, and Macy.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years; her parents and her brothers, Clarence and Sterling.
Memorials may be sent to Immanuel Lutheran Church Christian Ministry Scholarship Fund or the Alzheimer's Foundation.
