Jonatha Hilding Lynn Nelson

Jon H. L. Nelson, 65, passed away on Nov. 3, 2017 at Sanford Palliative Care, Fargo, surrounded by family.
Jon was the second son of Myra and JB Nelson, Sr. who preceded him in death. Jon is survived by his wife, Alberta “Birdie” Nelson, daughter, Shaunalea Nelson and brother-in-law, Ton Nankivell all of Fargo, ND; Shawn and David Lekander (sister-in-law and brother-in-law), Evans, CO; Monique Azure (his “adopted” daughter) of Moorhead, MN; brother, Bernard and Meleia Nelson, Denham Springs, LA and Bert and Janet (sister) Hymel , Ponchatoula, LA; along with multiple aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jon worked as a surveyor, oil rig worker and for the state of Louisiana before becoming disabled in 1983. Jon has been a member of First UCC Church, Fargo for 28 years and active with C.R.O.P. Walk until this year when his cancer prevented him from participating.
Jon loved his guitar music, football (LSU, NDSU and Cowboys) and baseball (Red Hawks) and The Beatles. Jon supported his friends, family and church in their endeavors with his southern etiquette.
A personal thank you is extended to friends, neighbors, coworkers, healthcare providers and family who provided support, care and love for Jon and his family.
