John C. "Jack" Simon

John “Jack” Simon, 86, of Fargo, ND, died Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Sanford Health Palliative Care, Fargo.
Jack was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota, December 6, 1925 to Clayton and Rose (Cardinal) Simon. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946.
Jack married Vivian Haugland September 9, 1947 in Thompson, North Dakota, and moved to Fargo the same year.
He worked for Jenson Heating for 11 years and for Miller Plumbing and Sheet Metal for 25 years. He then worked for the Fargo Housing Authority for 11 years, retiring in 1993.
Jack is survived by his wife, Vivian; two sons, John (Nancy), Eagan, MN; and Gary (Kathy), Franklin, WI; two daughters, Renee (Dean) Hashbarger, Fargo, ND; and Susan Gust, Fargo, ND; 12 grandchildren, Melissa Sjolin, Matthew Simon, Michael Hashbarger, Tiffany Dalby, Todd Hashbarger, Tracey Saunders, Tamara Crary, Lisa Anderson, Jennifer Roberson, Mikayla Vandermeer, Rachel Simon and Karli Simon; 20 great-grandchildren; and his brothers and their families, Frank; Robert and Raymond.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mary Ralston and Lois Knutson; and one brother, Dalton.
