John Schulz

John Schulz, 47, of Fargo, ND, died Saturday, May 30, 2009, at Innovis Hospital, Fargo, ND. John Adelbert Schulz was born July 25, 1961, in Moorhead, Minnesota, to Ronald and Ann (McMillin) Schulz. He lived in Fargo, North Dakota, until he was five and attended kindergarten in Fargo. The family moved to Dilworth, Minnesota, where he went to grade school until the 7th grade. He did attend 4th grade in Glyndon, Minnesota. They moved to Harwood, North Dakota, in the summer of 1975 and then to West Fargo, North Dakota, the summer of 1978. John lived there until he graduated from West Fargo High School in 1979. After graduation, he moved to Elgin, Illinois, for awhile before moving back to Fargo. John worked through high school and after high school for numerous restaurants as a short order cook. He also worked, on and off, for his Dad at Blilie Super Service in Fargo. He started working with cement at Peterson Products and then for L. L. Concrete. He became Foreman at Opatril Concrete where he was working at the time of his death. John was a racer. He raced from 1986 to the present time, 23 years. Racing, building, designing and rebuilding race cars was his life and he loved it. Johnny is survived by two sisters, Penny Schulz (Robert LaFayette) West Fargo, ND; and Pamela Atkinson; four nieces, Samantha Wolter, Fargo, ND; Jennifer Schulz, Ann and Elizabeth Atkinson, West Fargo, ND; aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Patricia Schulz; and his grandparents on both sides. God Bless Johnny One-Five. We will miss him. Visitation: Wednesday, June 3, 2009, from 5-7 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. Prayer Service: Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at 7:00 PM. at Hanson-Runsvold. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo.
