John C. Rourke, 82, of Verona, ND, died Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Bethany on 42nd in Fargo, ND.
John “Jack” Carlton Rourke was born July 13, 1936, at Sheldon, ND, son of Charles D. and Adelaide (Williams) Rourke. He attended school in Milnor, ND.
Jack married Marie Smedshammer on July 25, 1958, at Webster, SD. He worked as a truck driver for Herman Transportation in Fargo, ND, until his retirement in 1984. He was a life-long resident of North Dakota, except for 1987-1993, when they lived in Eagan, MN.
Jack is survived by his wife, Marie, Verona, ND; three daughters, Dawn Rourke, Fargo, ND; Vicki Mueller, Phoenix, AZ; and Michelle Rourke, Verona, ND; son, Brian “Bud” (Kyla) Rourke, Perham, MN; sister, Joanne Erbstoesser, Fargo, ND; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Darlyne Rourke; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Fred Metzler; brothers, Donald, Patrick, and Charles (Judy); sister, Elaine (Gary) Wendt; son-in-law, Joseph Mueller; and brother-in-law, Everett Erbstoesser.
