John R. Roberg passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, July 7, 2022 in Fargo, ND at the age of 90. Born on February 9, 1932 in Fargo to John and Carrie Roberg. He graduated from Central High School in Fargo. John was drafted into the army in 1956 and served in the Battery B 495 Missle Battery at Fort Bliss, Texas until his discharge in 1958. In 1957 Viola and John were married and raised 6 children.
John worked the majority of his career at Corwin Chrysler in Fargo, ND, starting in 1950 and moving up to the assistant service manager position before retiring in 1993. After retiring, John spent many happy days fishing on his boat and working in his garden, but his greatest joy in life was spent spoiling his grandkids.
John will be remembered by his family for his colorful sense of humor, his strength to overcome adversity, and his dedication to his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents John and Carrie Roberg, his half-sisters, Rachel King and Lucile Iverson, his wife Viola Roberg, and his son, Bradley Roberg. He is survived by his sons, Greg, Corey (Christie), and Steve, and his daughters Mara (Greg) McCormack and Annette (Kurt) Jankowski. John's grandchildren, Jon (Stacey) Jankowski, Ryan (Rachel) Jankowski, Chase Jankowski, and Tyler (Atziry) Roberg, and his great-grandson, Mateo Roberg.
The funeral service will be at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home on Monday, July 25, 2022 at 2:00 PM with a visitation one hour prior. A private graveside service will follow.
