John Fredrick

John Fredrick, 70, of Fargo, ND, died Friday, March 26, 2010, at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo. John David Fredrick was born October 18, 1939, in Kathryn, North Dakota, the only son of Walter and Hazel (Olson) Fredrick. He grew up in a large family with six sisters. After graduating from high school in Valley City, ND, he served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1963. He also completed voc-tech training in truck mechanics at Willman Community College. He then worked for Greyhound Bus Company for over 20 years and later for MAT Bus System in Fargo. After a previous marriage and divorce and subsequent years alone, John married Cheryl Ann Johnson of Fargo in 1994. They continued to reside in Fargo. John enjoyed playing cards and, in earlier years, fishing at the lakes and hunting pheasants. John’s father, Walter, died in 1991. John lost his beloved mother, Hazel, in 2009. He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl; sisters, Phyllis Ann Busta, Woodland, CA; Lorraine Stiles, Fairmount, ND; Grace Hall, New Richmond, WI; Katherine (Tom) Taylor, Paradise, CA; Maxine (Bob) Arnold, Chico, CA; Dorothy Seitz, Chaska, MN; a daughter, Marlo Fredrick, Minneapolis, MN; a son, Justin (Shahna) Fredrick, Kingman, AZ; with infant granddaughter, Aislynn. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hope Lutheran Church Foundation, Fargo, ND, or American Diabetes Association ~ 1323 23rd St. S. ~ Fargo, ND 58103 Funeral Service: Friday, April 2, 2010, at 11:00 AM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. Visitation: One hour prior to the service at Hanson-Runsvold. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
