John Henry Davis Jr.

John H. Davis, Jr., died on Saturday, June 5, 2021.

John was born in Fargo on June 20, 1929, to John H. and Annie (Johnson) Davis. After graduating Fargo Central High School, John became a journeyman electrician. He married Dora Pickard on May 22, 1953, and together they raised three children in the house he built for his family. He became a Master Electrician and worked for several electrical contractors locally as well as in the Twin Cities. John was an avid bowler, proud union member, and enjoyed gardening and puttering around the house.

John is survived by his son, Jack (Erlene) Davis, Vergas, MN, and daughters, Karen (Charles) Malmskog, Isanti, MN, and Jane (Paul) Olson, Fargo. He also leaves grandchildren: Nathan (Jacalyn) Davis, Fargo, Scott (Jessica) Davis, Detroit Lakes, MN, Dan Malmskog, Isanti, MN, Kellie (Anthony) Grayden, Hugo, MN, Craig (Sherri) Sukke, and Philip Olson, both Fargo; his great-grandchildren, Aidan, Aayla, Camden, Owen, and Ian; sisters-in-law, Alice Pickard of Woodburn, OR, Janice Pickard, Mesa, AZ, and Phyllis Riediger, Rolla, ND, and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Dora; his parents; his siblings and their spouses, brother, Bradley (Betty) Davis, and sisters, LaVerne (Charles) Bissel, Eloise (Norman) Gangnes, and Marlys (Sal) Moll, and a brother who died in infancy.
