Joel Fedje

Joel Fedje, 66, of Fargo, ND, died Saturday, October 15, 2011, at Sanford Health, Fargo. Joel Keith Fedje was born October 21, 1944, in Fargo, North Dakota, son of Arnold and Elizabeth (Ahrlin) Fedje. Joel attended Special Education classes in Milnor, North Dakota, where his mother was one of the first Special Education teachers in North Dakota. For the past 12 years, Joel resided in Fargo at New Horizons. Community Living Services provided Joel with a wonderful and helpful staff of whom he thought so highly. The residents at New Horizons became a family to him. Joel was employed by ETC of Fargo until his retirement. He then spent his days at Fraser. He enjoyed bowling, birthday parties, Red Willow summer camp, the circus and Special Olympics. Joel is survived by his brothers, Arle (Donna) Fedje, Moorhead, MN; Bernell (Marilee) Fedje, Coons Rapids, MN; and his sister, Janise (Marv) Duncan, Fargo, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial Service: Thursday, October 20, 2011, at 1:00 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home Chapel, Fargo. Visitation: One half hour before the service at Hanson-Runsvold. Inurnment: Concordia Lutheran Cemetery, Milnor, ND.
