Lyle “Joe” Froslie, 56, Fargo, ND, passed away at home on November 18th, 2021.
Lyle Joseph Froslie was born November 16, 1965 in Fargo ND to Lyle and Kay (Wingerd) Froslie.
Joe married Melanie Anderson in Lake Havasu City, AZ on June 10, 2000 and they made their home in Fargo, ND together with Joe’s children Aly and Justin Froslie and Melanie’s daughter Carly Anderson and soon after added daughter Josie. Joe was incredibly proud of his children and all their accomplishments. He enjoyed spending time at their events and bragging about their talents and intelligence to anyone that would listen.
After graduating from Fargo North in 1984, Joe began his career at Roman Meal Milling Company (now Dakota Specialty Milling) in 1986. He retired after 35 years in March of 2021. Following high school, Joe had success playing fastpitch softball, where he was known as Smokey Joe. Joe enjoyed playing golf for many years with his brothers and friends; many rounds being enjoyed with his twin brother in Lake Havasu City, AZ (always shooting par or under…) and concluding at their favorite 19th hole, The Crooked Eye Saloon. One of his proudest golf moments was shooting a hole in one on the 8th hole at Osgood Golf Course in Fargo, ND on August 18th, 2017. Many remember Joe for his endless one-liners and his love-hate relationship with the Minnesota Vikings.
Joe is survived by his children, Aly, Justin, Josie, and Carly; brothers Greg (Tammi) Kelly (Nancy) and Mike; sisters Lori Schiermeister, Deb Hager; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Kay and Lyle, and sisters Ellen Licari and Judy Froslie.
