JoAnne was born in Fargo on March 6, 1943, to Adolph and Agnes Brandvig. She is one of eleven children.
JoAnne cared deeply for her siblings and enjoyed spending time with them whether at the lakes, Phoenix or in Fargo. After attending college, she worked a variety of administrative assistant jobs.
