JoAnn Leonore Stone, born June 5, 1943, Granite Falls, MN, to Adrian and Myrtle (Wilson) Dahl, died April 11, 2010, at Meritcare Hospital, Fargo, ND. JoAnn graduated from Hancock High School in Minnesota in 1961. She was employed by Horner-Waldorf and modeled for Daytons, both of Fargo. JoAnn married Robert Stone Jr., July 14, 1973, in Fargo. In 1977, she was diagnosed with myotonic dystrophy, a hereditary form of muscular dystrophy. JoAnn was an active member of First Congregational Church and the Happy Rollers Group of Fargo. She and her spouse spent summers at Bay View Shores, Pelican Lake. JoAnn loved to play cards, sing, socialize, volunteer and spend time with her grandchildren. JoAnn will be remembered as an inspiration to others for living a courageous life despite being severely limited by muscle diseases. JoAnn is survived by husband, Robert; son, Bret (Susan) Stone; grandchildren, Alexander and Cassandra, all from Fargo; mother-in-law, Betty Stone, Fargo; sisters, Yvonne Anderson, Glenwood, MN; Cheryl (Richard) Filipi, Park Rapids, MN; brother, Curtis Dahl, Fargo;, sister-in-law, Barbara (Jack) Neubauer, Bismarck; brother-in-law, Brad (Lynda) Stone, Randolph, MN; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father and mother; brother, Arlen Dahl; father-in-law, Robert Stone Sr.; brother-in-law, Ronald Anderson, and great niece, Lillieanna Filipi. Funeral: Thursday, April 15, 2010, at 11:00 AM, at First Congregational Church, Fargo, ND. Visitation: Wednesday, April 14, 2010, from 5-7 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. Burial: Elkton Cemetery, Downer, MN.
