Jess Grobe, 78, of Moorhead, MN, died Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at Rosewood on Broadway, Fargo. Jess Mark Grobe was born December 27, 1930, in Fargo, North Dakota, son of Sidney and Lillian (Marek) Grobe. He attended school in the Fargo area. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He married FaraMae Lund July 30, 1952, in Sisseton, South Dakota. After Jess was discharged from the Army, they lived in Moorhead, Minnesota. Jess attended Hanson Mechanical Trade in Fargo. He worked for Broadway Pure Oil, Wallworks, Steen & Berg Auto Body and Selland Motors. He was active in the Valley RC Flyers, American Legion and VFW. Jess was an avid woodworker and loved working on many projects. Jess is survived by his son, Richard Grobe, Moorhead, MN; two daughters, Gayle (Wayne) Miller, Dilworth, MN; Christine (Dennis) Schonhoff, Argusville, ND: a brother, Leo (Doreen) Grobe, Moorhead, MN; and his granddaughters, Alexandra, Hannah and Jessica. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, FaraMae, who died January 18, 2006; a brother, Jim and a sister, Judy. Funeral Service: Monday, November 23, 2009, at 1:00 PM, at Dilworth Lutheran Church, Dilworth, Minnesota. Visitation: Sunday, November 22, 2009, from 5-7 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
